With all the photoshoppers in this thread, I'm suprised we haven't seen the radome installed yet. This picture above is a good candidate, could be precisely done using the rings...

It's only a critique if it's educated - that is, founded on facts. The base clearly does not have a green tint and is not in its final state. You can say you don't like it - that is your right. But the reasons for which you and others say you don't like it are unfounded and idiotic. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Exactly. For some reason, the fact that we point this out is unacceptable? They can complain all they want about whatever they want, but we can't question the basis of their complaints when they seem unreasonable.

And look at 4 WTC too... She's finally all done! That is, except for where it has the elevators on the south side.

This is so surreal seeing 1 WTC's cladding just about all done now. In the Jersey side pics, 1 WTC was definitely reminiscent of the original north tower. I don't know when I'll be coming back to NYC next, but I know this much, the exterior will be completely done. I can't wait to see that! I missed all this by a week, lol

Does anybody know if this tower is aligned with the geographical North-South?

^^^ Nope. The 1 WTC aligns with the rest of Manhattan, which points roughly northeast to southwest.

I think it is either 14 or 17 degrees off, rotated counterclockwise. I got pretty proficient with the site lay out when I was modeling the original towers' foundations and the bathtub using coordinates.

I don't think the spire quite goes with the design. Would've preferred something simpler.

Here she is. I'm making a similar day render, then I'll start setting up the base for rendering or the video of the spire depending on which one is more likely to succeed.

The circles on the non mechanical floors is caused by me forgetting to change the light projection to greater than one degree. Hopefully the day render takes less than four hours to complete.

Using Google Maps as a rough guide, this is the orientation of the tower:

I don't want to jump-start that discussion again, and I am very excited about the other towers in this complex, but now that it's starting to look complete (and as many have noted, extremely reminiscent of the North Tower) some of these photos have me aching for a twin.

Also, the way our eyes and minds work is pretty fascinating -- with the cladding done to the roof, the tower looks (figurative) miles taller than it did just a month or two ago.

The building does look good, doesn't mean you have to give it a gender. IT is a building. It's not a she, it's not a he, it's an it. Come on, it's a load of bolted steel and glass.

Speakign about glass, nice to see it almost done.
