The glass just interacts with the sun in an interesting way, so if you look at my pics of the south side, the gradation looks smoother and the result is absolutely stunning. Vista is like Mariah Carey in that she is stunning, and has a good side.

Driving south on Lake Shore around evening sunset... the glass is very much green.

Haha. Yes, well played. And exactly, I commented the same in a post right after the one you quoted. It was specifically about your south side pics

size matters

from it's narrowest to it's widest, does anyone know what the change is? 15'?

I'm not the only one who sees the purple hues!

These were taken this morning from West Beach in Indiana Dunes NP. I was hoping for clearer skies as I rarely get out to this side of the lake but at least I was able to see the skyline silhouette. Vista (and NEMA) look excellent.

I think it fluctuates with ambient light conditions. It looks better when greenish but Vista's glass is just too colorful imo. Reminds me a bit of that awful ultra-blue highrise in river north

^ Welcome back. The building's glass transitions to yellow cladding at the top. What you're seeing is permanent. They're working from the top down. Also, they've not topped out yet and have 6 more frustums, or 726 feet to go. There is a detailed post about this if you search 200-400 posts back in the thread.

JK. Yellow formwork should be gone within a month and core topped out a week or two ago.

Man I wish, this would make a superb mega tall

Although it's still a beast (and gorgeous) at its current height

Okay, I think I like the ridges on it more than I would have liked smooth transitions... surprised, but pleasantly so

Thanks for those far away pics little A!

in alegal's pics above you can see how monstrous this building feels from sea level. It gives me a weird sensation like it could fall over onto me at any minute, i love it

Yeah.. its funny how many people hate on the curviness of OMP and then hate on the jagged look of vista. Make up your minds! I think the ridges fit Chicago architecture much more properly
