Thumbs up to Stratford! That is a really nice town with a well preserved, thriving downtown area and has seemed to avoid alot of the crap that's going up in similar sized towns. I grew up in St. Marys, not far away. Both towns still have VIA rail, how cool is that?

Any pictures of Stratford?

On various occasions people here in Stratford, upon learning that we moved here from Hamilton, have taken it upon themselves to either bash Hamilton or state explicitly that we have "moved up." Disdain is never an attractive quality. My wife, who didn't grow up in Canada, did not like Hamilton very much, but since we've moved away she's come to appreciate the very unpretentious character of the city.

Aside: Raisethehammer and HAMRetrofit need to get over themselves vis-a-vis BCTed. And who are you to presume that you speak for all of us?

Another West Mountainite, Upper Paradise and Stone Church area.

Lived most of my life in the hammer, though I had a 5 year stint in St Kitts while going to school.

Hey, they have that great looking Keg restaurant over at Glendale and Merritt now (http://www.niagararestaurantguide.com/the-keg/). Haven't been, but they did a great renovation.

Oh God, me too. Except it was 5 years and the depression was clinical. No haha about it. Hamilton seemed like Paris after that.

Ya, it's an old paper mill or something, right? It opened the year I left... but ya, they did an awesome job on that. Strange area for a Keg tho... I think a Downtown location would have made more sense esp with the historic neighbourhood around Montebello Park (forget the hood name)

No doubt. I'm not gonna lie, I was in Hamilton every weekend! I tried to spend a cpl weekends there, every one was boring as hell!

But then my next sememester was in Mtl... so it more than made up for the St Kitts experience! hahaha

I've lived in the east end, a couple of spots on the Mountain, and in central Hamilton. I'm in Toronto now but want to get back to Hamilton.
