Is this U/C yet? I'll be visiting Toronto next week and will stay down the street from there.

Not yet, though it should be getting under way in a matter of weeks.

Getting Exciting...

I like the design, but the height makes it hardly worth mentioning.

Agree about the height (or lack thereof). But the design is already looking dated to me. I'm really not a fan of the twisted boxes.

True, the "offset tiers" style is not exactly original anymore, but I like it.

I like it as well. How many of these offset boxes do we have? Maybe after our putting 10-20 of them up I'll start wanting something different, but I can't think of 1 we've put up yet.

December 5th by androiduk. Crane is in.

November 18th by Jasonzed. Excavation hasn't gone any further due to the subway running below the site.

Wow! Didn't expect an almost zero excavation site.

Thank god for subways.

Why was that crappy little building not demolished? Is it being used as the sales office?

It wasn't used as a sales office - it was actually a restaurant/supperclub. It's now GABBY's, which is a chain restaurant here in Toronto.

Good question. It probably just comes down to the fact the property owner didn't want to sell. A similar thing happened with the Cinema Tower development in the city. CHAMPS FOOD SUPPLY didn't want to sell their property and this is the end result (wedged in between two towers).

The balcony glass will make it or break it.

Might have to wait a while for the final verdict.
