I doubt anything has been built since 1991 to block that view. I sort of agree, that would be a neat view to preserve, although, only half the plane could enjoy it.

Edited to add: London really looks great. I like their funky collection of buildings they have. And those cranes. Holy smokes.

San Diego International Airport (SAN). The eastern end of the runway is across the street from the northernmost edge of downtown (Little Italy neighborhood), and approximately 1 mile from the center of downtown.

The close proximity is exciting for passengers and planespotters on the ground, but it also means a 500 foot height restriction for all buildings downtown. Approaches to this airport are best on the left-hand side of the plane, where you are level with the buildings just before landing.

I think my favorite angle is from the Northwest over Lake Travis, but this is a great shot too... hard to really go wrong when it comes to Austin's skyline!
