Did anyone ever figure out why the northwest corner of the core was kind of funny looking?

It looks like they bumped it in for the roadway they just covered up. Maybe they plan on adding additional reinforcement in case some wacko tries to recreate 1993? I know they were covering the road with heavy duty steel panels as well.

Exactly. Don't worry, they'll fix that corner before it reaches street level.

I took my rendered image over the Photoshop and messed around for a couple of minutes. Photoshopping effects isn't my forte, but whatever.

Those columns are practically at street level! It's time for Morgan Stanley or some company to sign a lease!

Not practically - they actually are at street level - a good six, eight feet above it, even. See these images from lofter1 at Wired New York:

It's going to reach street level by this december, or close to when the 1WTC tops off.

Forget the "mid-2012" date.

Loving the renders everyone! Maybe STR or someone else can answer this, how large is that landing between the 4 diamonds, and (I doubt it but) is any part accessible (obviously not for the public, but maybe for tenants of 2 WTC)?

That's actually the roof over the highest office floor, but it's highly unlikely that will be accessed by anyone except for maintenance. It's about 25x30 in area.

With the 2nd, 3rd and 4th renders, I'm seems that I'm looking at a surreal hybrid of Escher and Q-Bert.
