ATLBlaxican mentions here that the ABC recently reported a finish date of late 2009...

And here Eva Galambos implies a start date of 2008 (second to the last paragraph)...

And Prime Engineering has a news release from 01/2007 about being awarded the engineering design and construction administration contract...

The hotel is to be located on a triangular lot formed by Mt. Vernon, Peachtree-Dunwoody and Abernathy Roads (basically). This is next to one of the surface level entrances for the Sandy Springs MARTA station.

I was by there on Sunday and didn't notice any activity on the lot.

Residential and Hotel Tower for Ashford Dunwoody Road

Basically a 29-story residential tower and 13-story hotel above parking...

Residential, Hotel for Ashford Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody

And, oh gee, oh gosh, it has the "blessing" of the beloved <sarcasm> Dunwoody Homeowners Association.

Interesting that the company is eager to go with two new towers at Perimeter but can't proceed at Allen Plaza unless they get a tax subsidy from the school board.

Here's a rendering of a proposed 24-story office tower by Barry, 240 Perimeter Center Parkway.

Wow! That is the corner where Chequer's and Fuddruckers is. When the economy recovers, I have a feeling we will be blown away by the urbanization that will be taking place out there.

Rubbermaid to add 200 more jobs in Sandy Springs

Newell Rubbermaid Inc. said Wednesday it will relocate its baby and parenting subsidiary to its Sandy Springs global headquarters, creating up to about 200 jobs by the end of next year.

The company, which itself relocated from Freeport, Ill., in 2003, said most of those jobs would be local and are in addition to the 200 jobs Newell Rubbermaid had already announced it would create in Union City when it opens its 800,000-square-foot Southeastern distribution center.
