A few panels of glass installed since yesterday when I visited the city.
Nothing new on the diagonals.
I am comparing your pic with the pic on my iPhone.

Perhaps they added glass panels on the opposite side since yesterday?

I don't know what camera you used, but the my pic from the same exact spot is much sharper and clearer.
I never realized how good my iPhone camera was until just now.

Yeah, it totally defeats the point of the design IMO.

I'm not sure that they're not lit up, or if it's just that they're not lit up enough. They're supposed to be like "stripes" that go all the way up to the top which is lit, but the effect is that it just looks like a dull glowing box on top of nothing.

I really hate the dull lights that all of our buildings use these days - the skyline pales in comparison to others at night, and it didn't used to be that way.

I love the texture of this building. The fins, the metal diagonals, everything. It's awesome.

Those corner lights do light up you just can't see them from very far away (say Belmont Plateau) and if it isn't a clear night, forget about it.

I agree. The only building that really got its lighting right is BNY Mellon. The lighting of its pyramid crown projects really well over long distances no matter what color it is. Liberty Place is very dull in comparison. The more cooler colors (your greens, blues, violets) don't project well over long distances. Also Three Logan Square could benefit from converting from floodlights to bright LEDs.

Before they switched to LEDs, you could clearly see Liberty 1 and 2 at night as these floating Chevrons from 20 miles away. The changeover to LED was a total bust IMO. Old lights:

Someone should just find the brightness dimmer in the buildings and bring it up!

The Comcast Innovation and Technology Center night illumination:

It appears that the entire length of the spire to be fully illuminated at night.

Oh yeah. It's funny cause when the Empire State Building was converted to LED, it was a much much bigger improvement. You can see its lighting from tens miles away now.

Liberty Place used to evoke the Chrysler Building. Now you can barely see it outside of Center City.

The width of this building seen from I-95 N/S is pretty impressive. Can wait to see the glass go up at that height.

I admire Comcast for building their towers on the Philadelphia skyline, but their business model is just plain wrong.
Go shopping and discover their sales agents walking around bothering customers to sign up for their offerings.
A few months ago I bought a large screen TV and had to navigate around a group of them Comcast agents trying to assault me with their presence.
"Nice TV" as I walk briskly around them, focused on my purchase.
Too bad Comcast is so desperate.
You wouldn't know it by looking at the skyline.

I don't think Comcast is desperate. Far from desperate, when you consider Comcast is now NBC/Universal, and just recently acquired DreamWorks.

My friend works at Comcast. When we visit our friends and family, they have the "don't ask/don't tell" atmosphere. But when someone brings up Pay per view, the "tiling" reception, the interruptions now and then, the updates, etc. If anything they start to complain a little bit, then it's like Wow, I didn't know Comcast can do that? After he tells them they are starting this service. But he's hardly "desperate" to sell someone on it. At least not with friends & family.
My friend works in Sales, (and complaints dept.) In addition to sales, there are constant complaints, that's what customer service sales reps have to do , as well.
When he gets home, he doesn't wanna hear the word "Comcast".

So not to go too far off track, but I work for Comcast and can tell you that the whole Time Warner fiasco really opened the eyes of a lot of higher ups. There’s a HUGE push to improve the customer experience overall. Part of that is an emphasis on the sales experience. While I’ve seen plenty passing fades go through, I believe that this is going to be a sustained driver that will really shift the way you see the sales force acting (especially since a better initial experience leads to better customer retention which leads to lots of $$$). It takes a long time to turn a ship the size of Comcast, but I think we’re starting to build some momentum. Unfortunately it sounds like the reps you ran into were in a Best Buy or another similar store. Those guys aren’t directly Comcast employees so they’re some of the hardest to reach, but we’ll get there eventually.

/end rant

Any info on materials of the spire. I'm hoping it will knock my socks off. Hiteck lighting solutions a must. Very exciting to watch the transformation of the skyline. The last batch of towers are having a major impact overall... in all directions too

blue under construction
red are my hopeful
