The Hanseatic Port City of Lübeck - aspArchi's eurotour'11

Me and the other exchange students were taken on a day trip to Lübeck, a small city on the North Sea, just 40 minutes by train from Hamburg. It used to be a big player waay back in the day, and was at one time larger than Hamburg. It is a very interesting city to walk around since it wasn't damaged very extensively during the war, and shows you how Hamburg and other northern German cities likely looked many years ago.

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures, but I have enough to give you an idea of what its like.

And that's it for Lübeck. Told you it wasn't much. But hey, something's better than nothing I guess. Anyway, next up: Bremen and Berlin!

Make sure to check out my other recent threads, too!

My cousin moved to Lübeck to study and never left because she loved it so much.

It's big enough to have everything you need, lots of water, many bars and both Hamburg and the beach are not far away.

Looks like you had a lot of fun during your exchange. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your tours. I viseted Lübeck twice and liked it a lot.
But one little is thing: Lübeck is located on the Baltic Sea
Btw did you ate a famous "Lübeck Marzipan"?

Looks like a very charming, historical city. I have a friend who's also doing an exchange program this summer, she's currently stationed at the University of Stuttgart.

What a cool place. Nice pictures, especially those ones of that big hall with the towers on it at the beginning.
