Yooooo. On a mid block lot too. Only thing I don't love is the pedestrian interaction, but that can always be improved.

We need more development like this around the other Vermont stations, forming a nice mid size highrise canyon. Especially around Vermont/Beverly and Vermont/Santa Monica which I'm pretty sure are the two redline stations with the lowest ridership numbers.

You can, in part, thank the Vermont/Western Station Area plan for this. Anyone who lives or works in the area should put in a comment in favor of upzoning Vermont and Virgil when the new draft Hollywood Community Plan comes out. I don't know if it'll make a difference or not, but worth a shot.

What a demonstrated lack of ability to abstract LOL
My broader point was: Your statement that Playa Vista "wasn't meant to be urban" is a captain obvious statement. It's the way it is because it was planned/zoned that way. Duh.

BrandonJXN: "The black Honda Accord wasn't meant to be Blue". Duh, no sh!t Sherlock!

My comment about Playa Vista is that it shouldn't have been planned that way. That planning for auto-dependency is backwards. That it's a tremendous opportunity lost. Get it, tweedle-dee?

It's ok, better than tolerable. A bit overdone IMO.

Why is LA incapable of building understated, modern glass buildings?

Everything, it seems, comes with oversized fins, asshats, and other obnoxiously attention-grabbing features. These tendencies are the architectural equivalent of trying too hard, and it's in our collective DNA.

More educated and more progressive cities like SF, Seattle, or London build more intelligent, non-douchey looking architecture on a more consistent basis. I wonder why that is.

Your best bet is to PM the mods. They claim that they don't know of any issues.

Not only this thread but he derailed the DTLA thread as well.

HEY MODS

In other groups he would have been kicked by now. Or at least suspended for a week. I got suspended for a week for calling Hunter a sky is falling chicken little dumbass who had no idea what he is talking about with the end of the cycle. I learned from my suspension and would never call that to Hunter again.

I've been suspended for less and yet you still keep roaming the earth with your posts. Mods, you should do your job and take out the trash.

The proposed Wilshire/Vermont tower can't come soon enough! Interestingly, it is shaped like a mini-version of Taipei's under-construction Nan Shan Plaza tower.

The West LA Neighborhood Council is discussing Martin Expo Town Center tomorrow. Those jerks are already against it--you should read their communications to residents ("massive," "impacting 16 streets"). Please show up and fight the NIMBYism that is already percolating and being encouraged by the council. The meeting is Wednesday, 8/24 at 7 p.m. at West Los Angeles Civic Center/1645 Corinth Avenue/Los Angeles 90025

I fear without intervention, this project will go the way of the Papermate site in Santa Monica.

p.s. I agree with the previous commenters; action must be taken on the aforementioned poster. It has gotten out of hand and he clearly cannot be rehabbed (cue the insults flung at me and my home).

While it's fine to insult LA (let's face it, LA has handled worse), insulting people is another matter. Don't do it! I'm watching you.

Wow a 41 story tower in Westlake. Who would've thought. Westlake is being sandwiched by the goings on in DTLA and Koreatown and it'll be interesting to see how Westlake will handle this.
