Two red steel towers emerging to connect some sort of a large crane.

Very good shot there, summersm343!

Do you think those 2 outer cranes will replace the ones that are going thru the steel structure, since it looks like they will have to install steel beams where the (inner) cranes are located? Just my thoughts. What strikes me is the location of the crane furthest away from the structure itself. It looked to me if they were situated horizontally instead of vertically, well, at any rate, I'm sure they know what they're doing! (I HOPE!)

^^^ They stand where the glass atrium is going to be on the 18th Street side, so they are indeed away from the main structure.

Yes, I see that. But that wasn't my thought. I was wondering if they need to uninstall the existing inner crane, so that either of these outer cranes can lift steel beams to their designated installments. (To where the inner crane is located.) OR, can they leave the inner crane where it is and work around it?
And yes, I would be quite certain that the 2 glass atriums, one at each end would be erected near the end of the project. So these 2 {new}cranes would have to be removed or relocated (again).

I was basically agreeing that your view seemed plausible.

Oh...duh, okay. I always go into too much detail that I confuse myself.

Awesome building. I'm loving it and loving the pictures you guys post. I also think the spire is fantastic. The light going up the west side all the way up makes it look like the spire starts at the ground level rather than being on the top of the building.

CITC is spaced more west than I thought. This will really expand and make the skyline more dense. Thanks to the wide foot print of the bldg.

As we see the core rise within the skyline, I really enjoy seeing the shorter towers rise just above the trees in contrast to the taller commercial towers behind them.

I'm thinking the two towers are there to temporarily support something structural and not to be two new tower cranes.

I mean, would they really use CRANES for that purpose? I would think that they would erect something similar to what they have on the South end of the building...cranes are expensive to use just for support.

Looking at the last pictures, not sure what they're doing with these tower crane sections but clearly not two new tower cranes

My guess would be for temporary support for the atrium beams.

The structure on the west side appears to be the beginnings of construction hoist. Crane trusses on the east side are interesting.

^^^^

Now, that.....
is interesting. I don't think it's gonna be tower cranes after all. Maybe they are there for the atrium...can someone yell to one of the construction workers?
They may know what it is.
One thing is certain....they're bigger than a bread box..
