Big Phipps Plaza project to break ground on Thursday

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...source=twitter

Quote:
The next evolution of Phipps Plaza is about to kick off — bringing a new hotel, office space and fitness club to the upscale Buckhead mall.

Mall owner Simon Property Group on Thursday plans to break ground on a new mixed-use project on the northwest portion of the campus, redeveloping the Belk department store.

The roughly $200 million project will build a 150-room Nobu Hotel and restaurant, 13-story office building and 90,000-square-foot LifeTime Athletic facility.

Where is this going to go? Is it replacing the trap house (and probably other buildings too based on its size)?

55 acres next to the kudzu trail sold to QTS. No specific plans announced, although they’ve already filed for a large data center in the same proximity

Finally! Drive-thru sushi

I wish there was some way to break up some of the super-blocks in that part of Buckhead. They're definitly pouring some money into the property

Norfolk Southern CEO says HQ will move to Atlanta

'only if many aspects can be resolved'

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...l-move-to.html

Quote:
Norfolk Southern Corp. CEO Jim Squires told the Virginia-based railroad giant's employees Thursday that the company will move its headquarters to Atlanta, "but only if many aspects can be resolved to make sense for Norfolk Southern, its shareholders, and its employees," The Virginian-Pilot reported Thursday.

Squires added that "the move would involve construction of a new headquarters building, which would take about three years." Read The Virginian-Pilot story here.

I like the looks of the Capital City Real Estate project.
The base has a certain amount of class and seems to be nice brick with surface details. Has a certain "Historic" quality.
