Are the scrapers around Central Park zoned higher than the smaller buildings behind them, or is it just that the view has been an economic driver of height in that area?

So, I guess it is really getting built for realz, I thought there was still some speculation as to whether or not this amazing tower had all of its funding in place.

I love that you can literally see Midtown spilling southwards, with the much coarser grain of buildings gradually replacing fine-grained residential. Fascinating picture just to stare at for a while.

Basically the latter. And not just views but the fact that top right in that photo is Midtown and to the left is Central Park West.

Great diagram Otie. This curved design will become the new norm for developers to show off their projects compared to other buildings around them.

I hope you copyrighted the idea!
