Bowen Island near Vancouver on a day with very low and wispy clouds

These were taken last month on a visit to Vancouver. Bowen Island is on the way to Whistler and you catch the ferry at Horseshoe Bay. It's only about a 20 minute ride to the island. It's quite small but is a very neat place.

Some of the boats near the ferry terminal

Just hanging around

The clouds were quite low

Some of the rock face at the ferry terminal

A large ferry coming in to Horseshoe Bay

Approaching Bowen Island

A few houses on the cliffs on the way to the harbour

The harbour nears

Private boats in the harbour

Getting closer

Houses above the harbour and the low clouds

Looking at some nearby islands from Bowen Island

There was a little beach that we walked to. The view from it was amazing.

There were a lot of trees washed up on the beach.

This bird held the pose for quite a while

A large ferry passing by

On the way back to Horseshoe Bay

Some of the scenery on the way back

Back at Horseshoe Bay

Great photos, and a spectacular place.

Great shots. The mist/cloud looks pretty cool, it's just too bad the weather couldn't have been warmer and sunnier for you.

I feel like a tool, I lived in this city my whole life and I have never been to Bowen Island. I'll have to check it out this summer.BTW Are there any decent pubs there?
