Stepper thanks for the great thread of a town I really miss.
Those were awesome photos, great job.

It feels nice to get back to the photo section of the forum. I've been glued to the politics section and probably missed out on some great threads here in the last two months.

Great set...you must have put more than a couple miles on those shoes. You walked right by my old house.

Thanks! Those are two of my favorites as well. I actually only managed to get in one more shot after the second one before my memory card got too full! And I only barely made back into downtown before those nice clouds poured rain for an hour or so! Anyway, thanks again!

Stunning city!!

If I had to move to the US, Denver would be high up on my list of cities to move to.

Some great shots there!

Denver looks great judging from the pictures. Looks like it has very diverse and interesting architecture. Perhaps the best Denver thread ever...

Absolutely great pics.
You showed us that Denver is a city with a big diversity of buildings.
Did you take them all at one day? I don't know how big Denver is, so that explains my question.

Similar to a City-State, Denver is a City-County. Denver's entire county is a city and the governing powers of the city and county are one. Denver is also the capitol of the State of Colorado. The City-County government and the State of Colorado government all operate out of Capital Hill district of downtown Denver. These governing institutions form a mall, much in the way they do in Washington DC. In the heart of this mall is Civic Center Park. The state capital building and the Denver City-County building sit on each side of Civic Center Park and face each other. Here is the view of each from this central vantage point; courtesy of Stepper77:
