That lot is one they focus on in the State College downtown master plan. Usually municipal master plans don't mean much, but since the lot is owned by the borough, I reckon it shows they are dedicated to selling it at some point.

The whole document is a good read, but the relevant bit starts at pg. 160.

As a side note, the lot directly adjacent to the lot you were discussing (facing Beaver Ave) is slated to be the new home of the Penn State jewish student organization. The project, however, was, in large part, orchestrated by Graham Spanier - so it has been on hold since the Sandusky scandal.

New proposal in State College - thought I would post here since this is the only semi-active State College thread.

On the corner of High Street and College Avenue. It is going on the lot currently occupied by Kildare's which was recently sold to the developer after a zoning change on the lot.

12 floors, ground floor retail, and a pretty slick design.

Hopefully this will add a little life to that end of town which tends to be pretty bleak. At the very least it will provide a better gateway into town coming from the west.

The Fraser Centre is topped out and and tenants have been announced over the past week. The retail component will be filled with an H&M, a restaurant/bar called Federal Taphouse, and an urban format Target. All this along with the Hyatt Place that was announced a while back.

The building is set to open in November/October.
