Hi everyone, heres a photo of Charlottetown, PEI's soon-to-be tallest building: the Homburg hotel on Grafton street. It will be 128 feet and 10 stories. Sorry for the bad quality of the render.

Here's a construction pic:

^Soon to be replaced by the 12 stories twin towers ''Le Havre de l'Estuaire''.

Demolition of the existing building is expected to begin in a few weeks after the last legal issues are solved.

The Trillium should definitely change that streetscape for the better!

I calculated the expected height of the Blu Rivage in Longueuil. Since it is built by True North Properties (all of their projects in Montreal and Edmonton are virtually identical, and they all have an average height per floor of 3 metres). Therefore it should be around 75 meters upon completion.

^ Is the Louis-Bohème complete? Pretty soon Altitude Montréal will take its place anyways (33 fl), so Blu Rivage will probably never make the list.

I tried getting a photo today of South Park's streetwall (the end of Downtown) but unfortunately without knocking on doors for permission getting a photo was impossible. Basically from Morris to Sackville (3 very long blocks) the street is crammed full of 10-20 storey towers overlooking the parks across the street.

And thanks for the estimate I trust your close to the correct height so I added it in.

Got any better idea on how else to emphasize certain words while speaking? I kinda figured that's what italics are for.

Way to go Charlottetown-a new tallest!

Cool thread Bedford_DJ.
Btw, the acronym PQ for Québec is obsolete, QC is the one you should use.
Thanks!

Louis-Bohème is nearing completion. All that needs to be done now are a few windows it seems.

Looks pretty good!

So does Montreal have any other high-rises underway right now?

It's a matter of weeks (or days) before the construction of Altitude starts. Construction of Square-Victoria (now known as Altoria) should begin in 6 months. Waldorf Astoria is supposed to get built this year, but it's not sure.

If we consider Louis-Boheme complete, the tallest U/C would be Blu Rivage with 26 floors.

Well Blu Rivage is in Longueuil (which is listed separately in this thread), so the tallest in Montreal under construction right now (aside from Louis-Bohème) would be the 15 storey St-Martin Hotel. Yes, 15 stories on PRIME REAL ESTATE (and ugly as hell. It has 2 blank walls, a mix of prefab panels, fake brick, wood, ugly windows , etc).

Yeah, but somehow, I don't see construction on the Waldorf starting anytime soon. I still really doubt that it will be built.

Here's the chances I give each of them:
- Altitude (95% chance it will break ground this year, 99% chance it will break ground eventually)
- Altoria, previously known as Square-Victoria, (60% chance it will break ground this year, 80% chance it will break ground eventually)
- Waldorf-Astoria (25% chance it will break ground this year, 50% chance it will break ground eventually)
