Paris

I spent 2.5 weeks in Europe from mid May to early June, with the first 3 days in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and 2 weeks in France. My trip concluded with 6 days in Paris, with two days reserved for attending Roland-Garros/French Open (which is number 3 of 4 Grand Slams I've attended, the only one missing being the US Open). The weather was ideal every day in Paris and I covered a fair amount of ground within the core of the city each day. Here's what I saw along the way!

1. Arriving at my “home” for the next 6 nights.

2. Great daytime and evening views from my hotel room!

I concur, very nice photos!

And in my corny mind, I had this song going through my head while I was looking at your pics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWCo5ex40IQ

...as I did when I was last in Paris decades ago.

Did you find that it changed much since your last visit?

Excellent! Glad you had some good weather, cause April and much of May were rainy.
You were lucky. Or you brought the sunshine to us, lol.

Don't you like the color and texture of clay on those tennis courts? When I was a kid, I used to play tennis on clay courts. I've never been really good at it anyway. Tennis is a hard game to play, huh.
When clay courts would go too dry because of sunlight, we had to water them a little bit. That would take only a couple of minutes but if I remember well, it actually requires much maintenance.
There was a couple of employees in charge of that at the tennis club.

Just out of curiosity, was the Novotel of the Front de Seine worth the money? It's the red tower in picture 125, built in 1976 and renovated in 2002.
According to critics online, the staff and amenities would be alright, or even fine and friendly, but the mall at Beaugrenelle and the neighborhood at street level look like they could do better for the price to pay, cause this is no cheap area.
To be honest, I never go to that spot. I might visit it one of these days, just to see it for myself.
Don't be scared to report about anything wrong to us. Criticism is helpful and appreciated.

Oh, you know, Central Paris is not meant to change very much.
It might just be cleaner now than it was 20 years ago. There are scaffoldings here, there and everywhere in town to clean up old buildings.
Right now, they're cleaning up the facade of the Louvre in rue de Rivoli, the Madeleine church and the parliament... That's about it, business as usual.
The suburbs are changing, on the other hand.

Vincent: And you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in a Pair?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the f*ck a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King.

Beautiful scenery, every photo could easily be a art piece hanging on wall in a home or a public space such as a cafe. Paris even though it can be gritty is probably still one of the most beautiful cities in the world, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful images.

It has been decades since I was there and you brought back so many memories.

Bread and cheese in numerous garden respites! Of course I was not alone and that makes a great difference.

I have to disagree about the weather though. For me, being in Paris is not complete without an occasional (lightly) rainy day. It adds a depth and joyous

softness which can be a great relief from all of the hardscape - even as beautiful as it is. I wish you could have had some rain.

I can't comprehend spending much more than a couple of minutes time watching people chasing and hitting a fuzzy ball back and forth when I could be

simply sitting streetside in coffee-breaks between visits to a tiny bit of the incredibly enormous amount of art that is there, but

c'est la vie!

Thank you.
