This has to be some of the most expensive housing in the entire city at those prices. $1,641 a month and you have to share a bedroom? My senior year of college (2010) I lived in a studio apartment alone at 20th and F St in NW DC and my rent was lower then that. Hell, you could probably buy a house in the neighborhood for what you would pay in rent to live there for 4 years.

I agree. Mine as well pay a little less and live in Rittenhouse and take the subway to class, or pay A LOT less and take the regional rail from Manayunk. Those prices are absolutely insane. At $1600 a month per person for a 4 bedroom: That's $6400 a month, or more than the monthly mortgage payment for a 30 year mortgage on a $1 million house. (Obviously college students can't get a mortgage like that but you see my point).

To put this in perspective can someone compare these rates to today's dorm prices? This complex is right on campus so in effect much more like a dorm than independent housing. That comes with ALL kinds of benefits in terms of being part of the college community. If I recall correctly about my kids' bills for "room and board" these sound about right.

Sorry guys, I read it wrong. Those are the prices per room, not per bed.

Here is the corrected pricing per person:

One bedroom- $1,875 a month
Two bedroom- $870 a month per person
Four person apartment- $820 a month per person
Five person (personal bedroom)- $854 a month per person
Fiver person (shared bedroom)- $820 a month per person

Sorry for the error

For reference, one bedrooms in the other residence halls usually run around $1,639 a month. It will be $1,875 for Morgan Hall, so roughly $200 more a month. Suites (sharing a bedroom, usually four total in a dorm suite), usually run one around $650 a month. Morgan hall will be around $850 a month... so roughly $200 more.

So all in all, this will be $200 more than normal dorm halls for every option.

Another grainy iPod photo taken from the 9th floor of Ritter Annex. Tried to get a look at the progress on the 30,000 square foot terrace.
