Thunder Bay and Regina lost the most people to Winnipeg. Do we get cookies?

OMG this post describes exactly my situation, just remove Australia and put Canada

If you really don't like it there leave. Pack up and leave now, and start you new life in a location that suites you. What about your job? To hell with it; if you are so miserable you'll leave to save your dying sanity. You'll need to do what is right for you and put that before anything else if you are that desperate.

You aren't doing anything constructive by coming on to a Winnipeg thread and whining about how much you hate it there. Winnipeggers don't need to listen to anymore of this self-pitying, crybaby attitude. I really mean no disrespect as I am sure you are a great and intelligent person, but you do need to move; both to make yourself happier and to relieve Winnipeg of excess negative attitude, therefore helping to make Winnipeg a much better and happier place.

It's a win-win situation

sadly life is not a fairytale, I can't leave just now but need to endure some more time. I was replying to Pallo, as both we are in foreign countries and it's very normal to not feel comfortable. There really was no need for personal attacks (not from you of course ), and if Winnipeggers are so susceptible to bad judjements of their city (I wasn't even mentioning Winnipeg...), it can only mean they partly share them too.

I'm not sure how long you've been living there, but you must remember that Winnipeg is on the verge of a major comeback. For the last 30 years, the rest of Canada has looked down on the city while making ignorant comments, and many still do today. In order for the city to develope a strong positive attitude (not saying there isn't any in place already), we can't have any naysayers who just complain instead of trying to make the city a better place. I understand Winnipeg doesn't compare to any city in Italy (and the same goes for the rest of Canada), so maybe you should be looking in other countries for similarities to your homeland. It's all about perspective.

^^^Our friend has been down and out for a while now. I've already told him that if he's not happy here, there is a whole world out there for him. Why don't you go to Hawaii? Or Timbuktu for all I care. Just find your happiness and quit whining about how miserable you are here. Winnipeg suits us fine, thank you. Oh, and by the way, how can you say that spirited energy is a long time gone? How long have you been here? Winnipeg's going nowhere but up right now. And that's from an immigrant that's been here for nearly thirty-five years.

I think the idea is that he has been "a long time gone" from his homeland, although it has never been made entirely clear where that is.

This forum doesn't have to be a booster club.

If I remember correctly, he stated several times that he is origionally from somewhere in Italy. And as for being a booster club, no it doesn't, but there is no reason for coming here just to complain about the city you are living in. The people here are actually concerned with making Winnipeg a more vibrant, energetic, and economically important city. Nothing wrong with that.

i think i contributed to this forum more than many Winnipeggers with valuable opinions and ideas. Again it was a direct message to Pallo, why do you care so much of what I think or do? Just don't read or go ahead!

You are so defensive and closed-minded it's not even funny; that's the main reason why Winnipeg is what it is, not Katz or politicians. You blame your fortune on politicians, but do you know they are elected by people?
There will always be people complaining about Winnipeg and whining, are you going to shoot them all? Just leave them be and enjoy living here. But you don't and are more sensitive than a woman... guess what? I think you don't like that much Winnipeg either.

And to reply to Greco-Roman:

1- you also leave in a place that you hate (Edmonton), still you are asking me to leave...
2- do not make look like Canada is all the same, it is not.
