It's not telus' first flop. Don't forget their "Caya" concept.

That Robson corner is a prominent retail space - hopefully a good third party retailer moves in.

cause it would have to adhere to mall hours and the only malls with decent hours are metrotown and guildford (open until 9pm six days a week)

at least if it was on a street it could stay open longer (potentially) robson street stores have the longest hours - i don't know if it still is but a lot of the stores in summer used to stay open till 10 or 11 pm on weekends on robson street

Also interesting to see how the Holt Renfew Men selection will be. They are essentially throwing down against Harry Rosen. I don't think there will be an expansion of that concept to the west however given the west coast aesthetic and the lack of a true business environment that requires that sort of dress. Too bad because overall menswear is severely lacking in Vancouver. It has gotten better recently but it's still pretty bad.

MAC within the Bay downtown appears to be moving to where the petites section of Topshop was at the Skytrain entrance, freeing up the Granville and Georgia corner for?

Also, main floor renovation going on beside the Coach section.

Mercedes Dealership Leased?

Looks like the former Mercedes dealership at Hemlock and Broadway has been leased. Signs are down, ppl walking around taking measurements and several cars parked in the lot. Wonder who's going in?

Sounds like Jim Pattison Toyota will be taking the space temporarily. I would assume while the tower is developed downtown.

Seems like a perfect match until Yuanheng decides to build a tower on that land. There aren't too many people who would be willing to lease a full fledged dealership that wasn't in the car business.

^ That's is a clever sequence of events and it bodes well for the Burrard Gateway project that Pattison Toyota is imminently relocating. The Yuanheng office tower at Broadway and Hemlock is likely a ways off, in my estimation, possibly until the UBC Line (or a portion thereof) receives the thumbs up and the lease rates for office space around planned stations spike.
