Claude Giroux suspended 1 game for his headshot on Zubrus...

Well deserved suspension.

Clippers fans hate the Lakers more than even celtics fans and Laker fans think the clippers are a cute little squad. The Clippers "home" games would be the ones to go to cause the crowd will be 50/50 and the atmosphere is really something to see.
It would be a great series no doubt! I'll be watching if it happens and I'll be cheering for the Clippers. Griffin is a beast and I've always liked CP3's style. I hope they win tonight

NHL, Jamison pursue purchase agreement for Coyotes

It seems Bettman has another buyer. Let's see if this deal actualy pulls through.

Mike Smith almost scored a goal right there. Carey Price have tried to go for the goal a few times but that was as close to a goalie goal (a real one, not because he was the last player to touch the puck) I've ever seen.

I wouldn't want to be in Joel Ward's shoes right now... he took one of the costliest penalties you will ever see.

Was at the game in Glendale tonight. Nice arena, terrible hockey, oblivious fans.

And apparently (decent) season tickets can be had for $1100. That's like 7 games in Calgary.

Funny, I thought the fans in Phx seemed to be really into it. Maybe it's just the way it comes across on TV.

I am hoping for a NJD vs. Phoenix SCF, because then I'll be able to get tickets and go really easily and cheaply.

WRT to Phoenix selling, I enjoyed TSN's snarky commentary in which random TSN guy offered them his LottoMax ticket for $50 million to cover "some" of the losses they'll have next year.

Yeah I'd say Ward felt like a big bag of garbage after all that. Still, I was quite pleased. I'm rooting for a New York / New Jersey showdown for the Eastern Conference final, and I'm one step closer to getting it.

As for the West, I'm currently laughing. In my hockey pool, LA and Phoenix were the last two teams to go. I got the Rangers close to the beginning, and subsequently got handed LA as the very last team. I wasn't that opposed, but no one really saw them doing well. Who's laughing now?

Those last ten seconds of the third was the worst I've seen. Good for New York though, but that was the worst time to take a penalty and for it to carry over to overtime was just horrible. If Washington loses this series it's because of those last ten seconds of the third. Now I'm cheering for New York because that was just too much stupidity for me to cheer for them now.

Canada just demoed France in the World Cup (IIHF)

wait...what Stanley Cup? Whassat?

i kid. LA is unreal! Not following the west too much, good luck to both LA and Phx, I'm not too interested in that series but in the east NYR and NJD would be an awesome matchup. Hurry up and boot WASH out already Rangers.

That said, Philly has been the team I'm rooting for -- it ain't over till its over! (hopefully Philly pushes it to a game 6 tonight! And eventually 7)

Last year's playoffs seemed better/more exciting than this year. I haven't been able to glue myself to em this year, dunno why

Next year I hope we get more Canadian teams in the Playoffs! The Coyotes situation still ain't over, and if they land in Quebec City (anything can happen in that saga still) then hopefully we get another solid Canadian yearly contender for the SC.

Its been far too long since a Canadian team won the SC.

Philly's goaltending is horrendous. It's laughable really.

Any thoughts on the Western Conference final? I'm rooting for LA, but given the history of both teams (Pheonix's bankruptcy, LA not making the Western Conference Finals since 1993) you gotta be happy for the fans on both sides.

I did for game 5 of round 1 from a Fry's grocery store when we bought over $200 of beer... had to bug them though.
