Kind of reminds me of the Ping Centre in Shenzhen, only with a flat roof. The roof height is just impressive. Eh, one day we will get a near 600m to the roof without spires to get there.

... i hope

It's one of the buidlings of the Goldin complex. It's right next to World Plaza and the future mall so I'd guess it's an hotel, don't know about the name though.

Perhaps it's just because of its height, (which I'd guess is likely at least 1,700 feet) but I never realized how thin this building is. It's not as thin as 432 Park Avenue or some of the thinner buildings in NYC, but this is really thin compared to most of the supertalls in China, especially those close to 2,000 feet.

New Photos Show Enormous Scale of Tianjin's Goldin Finance 117
Quote:
A giant 'walking stick' looms over the crowded streetscapes of Tianjin as the supertall Goldin Finance 117 continues cladding application after topping out in 2015. Like other major Asian skyscrapers, this tower will become the focal point of a new central business district in the city, and at 596.5 metres, it's already the tallest building in Tianjin.

Awesome tower. Beautiful in many respects. Excellent example of what modern skyscrapers should be. Something better, more than just a tall box. This like ping has made a noted advance in style and technology. Just lovely in my view.

The only complaint I have about these kind of towers is they rarely fit or compliment the skyline in any way. You have numerous 5-700 foot towers with a 2000 foot beast extending 3 times higher. It's kinda like the plan wasn't to create additional office or residential space as much as it was to extended the capability to breath smog free air above the average polluted level.

to get a future skyline of megatalls, which is the way things are going in Asia and NYC, you will at some stage have to build the first one.

Holy hell, that is an impressive building. Just waiting in anticipation for NYC to get a 2,000 ft tall tower.
