Everett, WA - Visit us some time. Ya hear?

Back in 2012 I did a thread of Everett, WA *HERE*:

Random snap on a drive-through. Looking down on industrial shore.

Here's a visit I made near the beginning of 2013. This post covers arrival on a Sound Transit bus and walking along Broadway, a main street running north and south parallel to downtown, residential and the medical center.

Thanks for the tour. Nice views of Everett.

But there´s something I´ve missed: Some pictures about Boeing´s factories.

I´ve always known about Everett thanks to Boeing, since I was a kid. Although I´ve never been there, I´d enjoy visiting Everett, sure.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Danny, you're right. I was going to make another thread, but I'll tack these on here. All but the first photo were taken in autumn 2013.

For Danny. I remembered that I have this one blury snap shot.

A bit more rough and "inland West", if that makes any sense, than I'd envisioned in my mind. At least, that is compared to Seattle.

Everett is very blue collar. And it was the one big winner in the 1980s/1990s US Navy "Home Port" program, which attempted to add more bases in a lot of locations. It generally has a carrier battle fleet with all of the offshoots that entails. Add that to Boeing (wild guess 20-30,000 jobs onsite, as the largest local plant?) and an older timber economy....

Thanks for this update, mSeattle.

I love the scenery around Everett. Many houses are really pretty. And the snowed mountains in the background are beautiful. Everett looks a very interesting and nice place to visit.

By the way, thanks for the photo of Boeing.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Now that is an extensive/comprehensive tour. Only drove through once many years ago, but the city had a blue collar vibe about it. I didn't realize there was a US Navy base. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks you all for the comments and thoughts. Denizen, that's an interesting thought. I need to look more closely at pictures from Oregon towns, even better, I should visit some.

apparently the everett boeing plant is the largest building in the world by volume. also, i hope tim's bicycle venture is more successful then his hobby venture. keeping it skeezy on the north side!
