Me: "I've had a sore throat and dry cough for five days, and it won't go away with cough medicine. "
Doctor: "It is strep throat, here is a prescription for antibiotics to take care of it."
Lungs: "Fuck you!! We're going to fill up with mucous and make you cough it out!!!"

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I have lost over a third of my next paycheque and my savings are low already. At least all of that futile medical care was free, even the prescription. It's like every day it gets worse. Looking back I really shouldn't have called in sick on Thursday and Friday because that was nothing. Saturday morning I woke up at 3am and felt like I was going to die; Sunday night I couldn't get to sleep for two hours because the coughing kept waking me up, and now I've got a really deep (like stomach deep) cough and pain. It just doesn't fucking end. And the amoxicillin is giving me diarrhea already so I've also got that to look forward to.

Edit: I just coughed a large glob of phlegm onto my bedroom floor. I instinctively grabbed the mesh garbage can to cough it out into. Lot of good that did! Then I had some of our ammonia-semen cough medicine and in 90 minutes I get to swallow a pill that's as big as a chiclet. Yay! Every time I burp (which is surprisingly often), it tastes like bathroom cleaner!!

Puking in a mesh garbage can might be a little messy too.

Well I just puked on the carpet and wiped it up. (It wasn't puke, just chunks of phlegm and ropes of mucous.) It's heavy duty office style carpet so it can take a beating.

I'm going to go into work tomorrow weather I feel well or not. I probably got it from someone there because I have gotten sick twice in a six month period for the first time in my life since starting there. I knew there was a reason I avoided people!! First person to cough near me will regret doing so.

Amoxicillin destroys the natural, healthy bacteria in your digestive tract, resulting in diarrhea. Plain, natural yogurt with live cultures usually is very effective in fixing that, but you may have to wait until you're finished with the amoxicillin to get results. It doesn't take a lot, just 4 - 8 ounces daily over the course of three or four days, and you should be good as new.

Make sure you stay hydrated while you're going through the miseries of whatever afflicts you.

Excellent excellent advice. My son had several bouts of ear infections when he was little and Diarrhea and diaper rash was a nasty side-effect of the antibiotics.

I know, TMI.

I hope you're not hacking up throat slugs on the clean bottles.

I've kept myself far away from the bottling room. Thankfully, it has been 24 hours since my last throat slug.

So I didn't get a job I interviewed for because I'm over-qualified.

Meanwhile according to my boss, I'm under-qualified to do anything but be her glorified errand boy.
