The facade is so strange. Like 3 separate buildings formed into one.

Looks like we're getting a preview of the non-wrapped facade near the top. Looks good!

For me CPT has a brawnier feel than One Vanderbilt. I love 1 Vandy but my early impression from CPT's still-in-construction cantilever, and its sheer height of 1550 feet, is a strong one.

What a milestone. Seeing this from the NJ turnpike is quite a trip. Can also see it on I-78 near Union NJ. I remember back in the day the ESB above the 1200' mark was visible from that distance, and now its joined by all these towers visible from quite a distance.

If you look at this diagrams provided here a few days ago, it appears that CPT is topped out in terms of residential floors, at 1450 ft, and that now they are progressing to the mechanical floors. Its pretty clear this building is about 50ft taller than 432 Park Ave, not 115Ft taller as it will be when they finish the mechanical floors. j

Um, no, you made all this up.

CPT is exactly 154 ft. taller than 432 Park. Obviously it will look taller still, because of higher elevation, but the height difference is exactly 154.

Inaccurate. All of these towers use the same mechanism of parapets hiding the other mechanical stuff at the top. 432 is no different, and even the Sears Tower height isn't the main roof height. There's just more to add after you get beyond that main slab. Just as the office or residential interiors are hidden by the facade, so too the other equipment necessary for maintaining the building.

From this picture posted a few days ago, 432 and CPT look very close in height. I wont push the issue, indeed maybe that is an older photo, not sure. j

Looks like they've completed the first mechanical floor above the last setback, whose ceiling would be right at around 1450'. Since they've already built up a bit of the next level, I'd say it's safe to say that they have passed the tip

Therefore it isn't topped out and it isn't parapet work starting?

That was my estimate as well, from just a few posts back. Apparently some on here believe the top is now at 1515ft. Seems we have a difference of opinion here. j

Hm interesting, it seems like based on the diagrams there are still a few more floors (one mechanical) before we reach only parapet

It's on the 95th floor, 2 floors above the setback. According to the diagrams that floor is 1,450'-6"

Yes. Plus about another 12 feet for the concrete slab on top. Lets call it 1460. j
