Ugh, MP and the RenCen are in two totally different categories. MP is no where near the massive size of the RenCen and the gap between MP and the Humana building is only like two blocks. I suggest looking at the all of the other pictures, and the animation videos before jumping on the "It will be like a RenCen for Louisville" bandwagon, because once you look at everything that argument is really moot.

This is the Updated Museum Plaza design. I think it rocks!! The twin towers are much more thicker than the previous design, and i like the large T in the front holding up the island. This is sweet!

I was downtown on main last week and saw that the first sign of construction had begun. The three west main buildings that function as the entrance and location of the diagonal elevator have been gutted. I also checked out the exhibit by the architects, which has been updated. There's a roof garden on the top of the "Island"... that's going to be the hottest ticket for Thunder in a few years.

I know! I wouldn't mind spending $150 for that view lol. I went by the site earlier this year and they were gutting those buildings. It's amazing how this building will fit into that space, it looks really tiny when you drive down 7th street.

What kind of architechtural style is this? Deconstructionist? Abstract? (if there even is an abstract style) Post Modern?

This is something I'm definitely going to have to warm up to.

idk bout this one though i mean i like the T part but what happened to the back of the building on the small rendering it looks horrible and plain
sad colors....
and the side ways ride thingy looks like an industrual port thing i liked the old one better

Museum Plaza work to start Sept. 27

Ground will be broken Sept. 27 on the $465 million Museum Plaza tower that is destined to reshape Louisville’s skyline.

The construction start was announced today by the four partners in the project, developer Steve Poe, attorney Craig Greenberg, and two investors who are married, Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown.

The development team said in a news release that it “anticipates announcements throughout the summer on commercial tenants and condominium sales” for the 62-story residential and commercial building.

The 703-foot-high Museum Plaza will rise at Seventh Street and River Road, towering above the Ohio River just west of the Muhammad Ali Center.

The latest plans call for the building to be completed in fall 2010.

For more on this story, read tomorrow's Courier-Journal.

Reporter Sheldon S. Shafer can be reached at (502) 582-7089.

Cool design, wrong location.

Eww. I do like the other renderings, but this one isn't flattering.

I love those renderings, but I still can't stand the building.
