Above Downtown Vancouver

Yesterday at the Vancouver forum meet we had a chance to go to the top of a couple of buildings downtown and both offered great vantage points for taking photos. Most of the following shots were taken during that tour:

Looking down at Cambie and Hastings, still a rougher part of town:

Major condo redevelopment at the former Woodward's department store, something that probably wouldn't have seemed likely a few years ago:

Sun Tower, an old landmark:

A view of the Harbour Centre, where many of these pictures were taken:

A view of the roof of the new convention centre and nearby hotel, both still under construction:

Living Shangri-La, topped out at 62 floors, is Vancouver's new tallest building:

Panoramic view of North Vancouver:

I could say 'nice city', but what the hell do I know?

Never tire of pictures from here, thanks.

Great pics Someone... I'll post the ones I took this afternoon.

I really like the shot of Waterfront station with the blur effect.

I'm quite taken with the blur thing too. Makes it look like it's all miniature.

Some of those blurry ones actually made me think of a more urban Mr. Rogers' neighborhood

Excellent pics. I was there almost two years ago, and so much has changed already.

Very nice tour from on high. I'll have to visit Vancouver someday. Like the blur effect (unless it is some sort of byproduct of drunkenness).
