Update: Some excavating equipment is already on site. I've been informed that digging will begin on Monday!

Overdale...been waiting since the late 80s for this, back when they first bulldozed the block.

Awesome news!

I've been personally waiting for this sort of development east of the CCE for way too long. Now up next, the empty lot next to the abandoned maritime hotel and the babylone project.

A skyline view that will be radically different in a year or two from now...

The YUL site (u/c) a few weeks ago, with a number of other construction sites (at least the cranes) behind it - from left to right: Icone, the new Holiday Inn, Roccabella (East Tower), l'Avenue, Tour des Canadiens, and the Deloitte Tower (topped out). At the far left you can also see part of the crane for one of the Crescent Street (or Bishop Street?) condo projects.

New Images Capture YUL Construction Progress

Quote:
Work on the five-level parking garage is progressing and the project is steadily approaching grade. Site photos show the building about three floors beneath the road surface. The topped-out Tour des Canadiens is visible in the distance.

better late (very late) than never. I recall the overdale project way back in the eighties. Dark days in Montreal.

Curtain Wall Going Up on YUL in Montreal
Quote:
The 38-storey YUL development in Downtown Montreal, crews have focused on vertical construction and cladding installation. Developed by Brivia Group and Tianco Group, the building has been covered in a sky blue, highly reflective curtain wall glass about halfway up its concrete skeleton. Judging by what we've seen so far, the MSDL-designed project could blow expectations out of the water.
