Undoubtedly Toronto is growing in quality and number of drawings, your contributions are excellent
I believe that I will open a thread specially of drawings for South America (that is my region )

Thanks Danny, I've been watching your progress as well, and your drawings look very sharp. Keep up the good work! If you start a thread about S A buildings only, what will you do about your drawings of buildings in other parts of the world? You might be better off just making a thread about your drawings instead...

It is now. Sometimes there is a time lag between a drawing being approved and that drawing showing up in the diagrams, but I have no idea why that happens.

It's really odd. If I set the maximum date to 2010, not only does the drawing not come up, but the building itself doesn't come up. But that's impossible because the thing is already built. There's some kind of error.

edit: Ah I see the problem now. If a building doesn't have a year listed, even if it's built, it won't show up if you create any parameters on the year, even if that year is in the future.

Again your drawings are really very good... though those of Abu Dhabi do not convince me, take it as a constructive critique

I kind of cheated on them, they're the same as The Domain, just shortened. Eventually I'll get around to making modifications on them.

I like the Charlie. I don't like its name. But the building looks good.

Thanks Vid. I had to modify that one because its height was increased from 105 M to 123 M, something about adding more floors. I suspect the height and # of floors will change yet again.

The only movement I see for Charlie is to the cancelled pile

BTW, The last design for Platinum 4 is/was a massive mixed-use, PoMo slab on a block sized podium. It doesn't resemble the twin Platinum towers or the re-designed Pearl (initially planned as two point towers)

Well done as always.

I also really like your 18 Yonge. Just one question though. Why is it brown? I thought it was green.

I used the render to base my drawing on, those were the colors it used, when I was nearly finished I thought the same thing to myself, and realized I should have based the drawing on pix of the actual building instead.

RE: built & registered

I wouldn't rely too heavily on a rendering's colouring as the actual buildings hardly ever turn out like their artistic impressions. Photos aren't exactly difficult to come by either considering the effort you put into your drawings. If there is one thing Emporis' Toronto editors do well, it's taking photos of buildings.

ex.
http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=18576
http://www.emporis.com/en/il/pc/?id=183726&aid=8

Another great drawing but still a little too grey for even the smoggiest of days.

It is why i ever put Photo Links in the bldg cards for illustrator to follow them and not losing time and patience, as well becoming frustated after the result. But then.... you know, i am not there anymore to adjust that. Emporis link is because some reasons, a complicated ones, not showed outside to have this reference for everyone. Koops, I suggest you using google link to search for bldg photos before doing an illustration and never base on renderings, cause a bldg never comes out like the rendering was. Everytime has change in colours and materials, when finished. It is also depending on daily lights and seasons time. So to not beeing frustated redoing a lot, investing time with waste redoing, not doing otherelses, try to make the built ones first, cause the proposals will ever in a while be totally different. This was a prerrogative from me. I wait a little before doing a bldg i don't know what will happen in a short time. Although you know how a bldg would be for sure...

Thanks for the tips and help, I appreciate it. Having said that, you all know that I don't mind re-doing a drawing, or modifying one. If the color is off, or an architechual detail is wrong, I'll go ahead and change my drawing and re-submit it. It's not that big a deal. On a number of buildings I've submitted lately the height was ammended (usually to a higher number) after it was approved, and I had to stretch it and then re-submit it. Again, not a big deal.

Like you said Koops, the system, how it was built, it is a game of a cat and mouse. Drawings approved have nothing to do with the accuracy in info in bldg cards. There is no direct correlation.
The heights could be changed afterwards if a source is better found. Then the diagram remains in incorrect height. This is normal, when not much research is made before or even the sources change with the time of development and info in net.
