The NW corner of Dundas and Quebec which was the former site of the 7-Eleven gas bar is for sale again. Would be interesting to see who might buy it and what could go there. City would likely claim easement to expand Dundas and Quebec streets for whatever is built there.

Absolutely nothing!

Another "Landlord" property that will now be a parking lot for decades.

I mean it was a shitty abandoned building with no heritage value.

May as well 'pave paradise and put up a parking lot' until something is proposed here. With parking being lost in other areas due to new construction this will help a bit.

It could also be used as a staging area for construction of nearby projects.

Shame there is nothing to replace it but it will get replaced eventually as the number of new condo/apt towers continue to be built eating up current vacant lots.

Already there is a notable decline in the number of parking spots downtown so at least for the short-term this offers some relief and anything is better than an ugly vacant building.

That corner could be a logical spot for something tall and affordable. Close to Fanshawe, and also offers an opportunity to bring modest earners downtown close to Budweiser Gardens and night life if we ever get back to normal. Would be good to see affordable towers along with super high end ones...

It will get developed and probably sooner rather than later.

It may see like the Core doesn't need more parking but you have to look over the next decade. If just 2 buildings are completed each year during this decade, most will be on vacant lots and that means up to 20 parking lots gone from the Core in just 10 years.

If it was owned by anyone other then the "Landlord" I would agree with you.

I believe the City is actively encouraging inclusion of public parking levels in new developments, and may be offering bonusing. There was also calls for a joint development with developers for a residential build with lots of levels of public parking on the City lot adjacent to London Music Club. Though that was pre COVID and I have not heard anything further than the initial announcement.

Ok I don’t know where to ask this, but with the new city of London website I cannot find any of the documents for proposals etc. Do we really have to call or email a planner to see designs of new buildings?

Major disappointment and step backwards for the new site.

With the London Children's Museum moving out in the future. What should happen with the building? Ideally I think a experienced developer should buy it and build a high rise out of the core retaining the existing building as part of the podium base. Like the current London Armouries Hotel. The location overlooking the river and with a great view east towards the downtown core would be spectacular.

Farhi has owned the site for 6 years, so we just know something innovative will happen there.

Not clear what happened but all demolition work at 120 York St ceased 2 weeks ago. Heavy equipment was removed leaving behind piles of steel and rubble. Any news on why? Health and safety? Stop work order from MOL? Or the landlord not paying the contractor?

Sad news with Call the Office closing for good. However that building plus the car detailing shop to the west and the parking lot together would be a terrific development opportunity in the hands of a real company. North along Clarance St has some buildings that could be added to the parcel to create a large section of the block. Wonder who owns these buildings and parking lot?
