Surprisingly they still have not paved the parking lot of the new retail buildings at the entrance to River Bend as of yet. For some reason they appear to have stalled out finishing the 6s Strapka apartment building with zero progress installing the 6th floor precast floor slabs. They have been building the lower floor exterior steel stud walls thou. The 8s Candela condo building has been paused since they completed the ground floor slab at the end of the spring this year. Suspect Sifton hit the brakes on this condo building because of the financial markets. Eve Park is slowly getting the exterior siding installed on building 2.

Update on Spektra 6th floor and the reason for the stall. Is they redesign the floor to match the 5th floor unit layout. So it went from 8 units to 12. Which also changed the step in the building would have done with the lesser unit count.
Candela was completely redesigned, unit difference went from 10 units to 11, but this changed most of the previous unit configurations.

Interesting indeed as another thought was maybe Sifton was rethinking the Candela condo building and switching it to a rental building. The Condo market has slowed and recent changes to remove the GST from purpose built rentals to spur more construction of those may be giving developers second thoughts.

Well they got rid of any 3 bedrooms units, down to 2 bedrooms. And lowered the square footage down per unit to more rental unit numbers. So I have heard that they are switching from condo to rentals, but has yet to be 100% decided.

Looks like they have now finished installing the siding on building two. Still have to install the siding on the balconies and install the railings. The Candela building is still frozen in time with nothing happening. The Spektra building is also stalled in terms of adding the final floors. They are working on the lower floors to add the insulation board and windows. The retail buildings at the River Bend entrance are getting the landscaping installed and they have finally finished paving the parking lot. Still no signs of any interior work for tenants. Plenty of for lease signs up thou.

Looks like after nearly 8 months Sifton has finally figured out what to do with the Candela building with structural steel for the first 2 floors now being installed. Should see precast concrete floor slabs for the 2 floor being installed next week and 2nd floor forming for the elevator and stairwell shafts. Wonder if they have decided to go rental rather then condo after all this time stalled out. The Spektra building has also restarted with work now underway to finish the 6th floor. They have spent the last 8 months making slow progress on the exterior walls of the first 5 floors.

The three buildings are complete with primed drywall walls. Lots of for lease signs but no signs of any tenants. Tough economic times for new businesses to consider opening.

They have now landed about half the 2nd floor precast concrete slabs on the south end of the Candela building. They are still installing structural steel for the 6th floor posts and cross beams on the Spektra building.

The 2nd floor precast floor slabs are now installed in the Candela building and forming has started for the 2nd floor elevator/stairwell shaft walls. They have now completed the install of the 6th floor roof precast concrete slabs on the Spektra building. Should see the mechanical penthouse walls going in soon.

CTV story on the Eve Park condos which are now getting residents moved in. I suspect the 2nd phase for buildings 3 and 4 might be a few years off given the crash on condo building and sales we are seeing around the country.

Wrapping up the installation of the 3rd floor concrete precast floor slabs in the 8s Candela building. Should see the forming for the 3rd floor elevator/stairwell shafts next week and the start of the installation of the 3rd and 4th floor structural steel posts and cross beams. The 6s Spektra rental building is now topped out with the rooftop mechanical now poured. Exterior wall sheeting is now nearly complete for the 5th and 6th floors with good progress with the window installation on the lower floors.

Have now got all the 3rd floor elevator/stairwell walls formed and poured now in the 8s Candela building. Structural steel posts and cross beams for the 3rd and 4th floor have started to be installed on the south end. Looks like they have started installing the mounting brackets for the solar panels on the Eve Park Condos now on both building 1 and 2.

Have now installed about 50% of the 4th floor precast floor slabs in the 8s Candela building. Are now starting to install the roof top solar panels on the Eve Park condo buildings.

Forming of the 4th floor elevator/stairwell walls on the 8s Candela building underway. Have also started installing some of the 5th floor structural cross beams.

Condo sales are really dead at the moment. Eve Park offering Telsa bonus to try to sell some of their units. Also they are now wrapping up the solar panel installs on the roof. The Candela 8s building has now got the 5th floor structural steel cross beams installed so should be seeing the 5th floor concrete precast slabs being installed soon.


Also yet another tower crane has been removed from the city skyline with the crane on the 6s Spektra building now gone.

why is there so much space in front of the spectra tower? It couldn't be parking?

There are plans for another building (listed as 2026 on the website) on the corner to the south of Spektra and then parking in between the 3 buildings
