Has anyone ever noticed that the Citigroup Center in Los Angeles has a strikingly simular facade to the Citigroup Center in New York?

It was originally designed to have solar panels but at some point, they decided against installing them (I forgot what the reason was, maybe it was cost or something).

I love this building but I think its time for the aluminum panels to be cleaned all over the tower to really make it shine.

This skyscraper is another one of my faves. I remember seeing her crown sticking up when I was sitting in JFK waiting for my flight to San Francisco. She and ES were the two who stood out

She's really pretty when the sunlight makes her look golden- she does that same thing the Twin Towers did.

I have never seen any good shots of the base of this building before. There are some good ones in this thread, and, I must say, it is pretty sweet. Definitely the most valuable design element of the whole tower. Probably the only base with this configuration (exposed structural features/raised floor plates) that I can say actually looks good.

It's part of what makes this tower special, it stands apart at ground level as well as on the skyline.

There is a mass damper, but it's not a sphere... it's just a giant ugly concrete block, unlike the dramatic sphere that Taipei 101 has.

Besides obvious towers like the Empire State or the Chrysler, and maybe the UN, this is probably the most distinctive or one of the most recognizable landmarks on the skyline...
