The Crescent City, La Nouvelle-Orléans, a NOLA trip(part 2222222, CBD, Mag. St, etc)
Here's part 2 of my NOLA trip, enjoy!
Quote:
I just got back from New Orleans and the city far outweighed my expectations. It has some of the most raw urbanity I've seen in the south. Many areas remind me of other places(in the country and the world), but at the same time, it's all very distinctive, very... New Orleans. I was originally going to break up my NOLA threads based on uptown/downtown, but everything is mixed up, so I'll just post it how it is.
(I know a lot of this stuff is touristy, but... I was a tourist )
I've said this before, but part of N.O. reminds me a bit of San Francisco, and even parts of Los Angeles. I like the people shots too, but some people don't need to be wearing lowrise jeans where there too much excess blubber hanging over the side of the waist line.
One thing I noticed about the residents are they have a unique style that seems quite different from other southern people. Both the whites and African Americans have this unique look. But especially many of the caucasions look as if they are are much darker in skin tone, as well as facial features are a bit odd looking compared to ones I'm used to seeing from the Northeast, West Coast, and the Mid-West.
