Yeah, the red is a good route. The freeway would have to go overground in the island where the stadium is and then turn into a tunnel when it crosses what I think is going to be the main part of town. A bridge wouldn't look good. Like if there was a bridge in front of New York's waterfront.

The blue route looks nice too but why does it look like it goes into the water?

It would also be nice if you connected the existing viaduct in the downtown area to the red route.

Yes, you nailed down all the right routes, and I agree with all of them. You might want to do a little more work with connecting the main higways into the actual city center. Use the West Side Highway or the FDR Drive in Manhattan as examples of what I'm talking about.

No, not at all, and take my word for it. That outline is actually a very good plan. You have the major highways filtering into parkways that filter into the city streets. Very good, go for it!

No yellow. No pink(or purple). The red is fine, and so is the blue. Why don't ypu connect the existing tunnel to the red route?

Depending on where those yellow and purple lines connect to, they are very well practical and should be kept.

Well, this would be the basic plan. the red rout become a bit wild so it might not be that way.

very good layout treras. there is a lot to fill in that grid. i really look forward to seeing more filled in. at the rate you are going --and i don't mean in speed, but in what you are modeling, a perfectly balanced amount of lowrises and highrises-- this is going to be one of the best SU cities ever.

You don't need to render. Just turn edges off. And if you wanted somebody to render then ask Mo cause he is the render King.

thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions!

Ok, i know its early in the city's time line to revamp the whole city but frankly there was only a couple things from Scottsburg and those will be returning. Western Bank, the interstate, and the basic shape of the land are the only things coming back.

I like this because it'll give me a chance to give the city and its buildings a history thus adding more realism. i hope you all like it.

for now just a couple photoshopped maps to show Scottsburg's location.

i'll update later tonight.

Sounds good to me. I like the land you're basing your city off. I did the same thing too but only for the islands because there are no streets on the islands I based Islas Marias off.

Is that a real place and did you just replace the name to Scottsburg? or is there an actual Scottsburg?

You found a very good location for the city. I like how it starts off as a land mass and then filters into a penninsula towards the Atlantic.

If you're not familiar with the area, some major points of interest that you can put on highway signs are: Providence and Newport, Rhode Island. Newport is a very posh, upscale town. It is famous for its early 20th century mansions and high society. Providence is in an essence a micro Boston. It's located right off I-95.

That's a really good map you made there. I like the motorway plans you laid out, back in the day I used to love doing that for imaginary urban areas too, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

I hope that Scottsburg Mark II retains the basic grid shape, that was class.

Ok update!

Scottsburg was founded in 1627. Puritans came to America in hopes of finding religious freedom. they landed on a small island that they called Clarks. they found that the land was infested with hostile Native Americans so after almost 75 men, women and children were killed they knew they must leave. Some said they should go north, others said south. About 800 went north and three years later founded Boston. And as for the other 600 or so, they went south and founded Scottsburg in 1627. Since then the city has become a large port city and grown and thrived since then. From a population of 563 to over 4.6 million the city is still growing and expanding!

so this is all i have so far

this will be done i the next update
