Bridgeport looks nicer than its reputation. Just wondering how far is Black Rock and Saint Mary's by the sea from the fairfield train station? And do you just follow the shoreline?

This is really the only nice section of Bridgeport , the rest is pretty rundown and dangerous. Black Rock is right across from the Station , separated by Ash Creek. Saint Mary's by the Sea is a tiny area by the sound , once you leave the Main station you walk along Brewster Ave till you get to Canfield Ave which is what you take to reach the sound. Its a 30min walk to reach the shoreline.

Just to clairfy are you talking from the Bridgeport or Fairfield stations? And as a sidelight Fairfield is on one of the most beautiful areas of the Northeast especially around and in back of Fairfeld University.

Fairfield Metro is on the Bridgeport city line in Fairfield.

Great to see a photo thread of Black Rock. This is a nice neighborhood. My dad lives here for part of the year. Black Rock is a very walkable neighborhoods that is very affordable. You can get a 2-bedroom home a couple of blocks from the Long Island Sound and less than an hour from New York via Metro North for less than $300K
