1027 Wilshire Developers Remain Optimistic, but Need Financing

Following up on our post earlier this week about the
design refinements of the 1027 Wilshire tower in City West, we spoke to
Central City Group Development to get an update on the project.
As the story goes, ground-breaking has been pushed back until the
third quarter of 2008 and funding is still up in the air. However, when asked whether they were confident to find a financial backer, we were told “absolutely.”
Furthermore, their faith in Downtown’s long-term residential market has not wavered, as the large scale of 1027 Wilshire is not expected to change or go rental.
The 52-story, 402-unit glass condominium project obtained entitlements in September 2006 and is currently in the plan check phase.
