I was very excited to hear that she is coming to Van after all these years. I guess her new contract with Live Nation had something to do with it. I saw her at Wembley (Girlie Show) and at Palace Auburn Hills (Drowned World). I can't wait to see her here in my home town!

Didn't U2 play 3 shows? The Police played 3 (including one fan club / dress rehearsal). I can't remember anyone else recently that's played more than 2 concerts in a row there (or at Pacific Coliseum).

Crap, I really should have posted this earlier: http://wolfparade.ducatking.com/

Presale tickets have been on sale there for a while, I snapped them up immediately because last time (at Richard's on Richards) they sold out pretty quickly and I had to resort to Craigslist scalpers. I think they're cheaper than Ticketmaster so it's still worth using.

I hope it's in BC Place for this one too! Rock the Dome! Then Madonna in there October

maybe fans are considered more forgiving of first night jitters here? or maybe artists are less fearful of a more provincial press on that opening night?

It's probably mainly our location. We're at the "end of the line" for west coast shows. A lot of tours (or at least tour legs) end here as well (Queen + Paul Rodgers and the Rolling Stones were two that I went to).

The next week is shaping up to be a busy time for concerts!
Tomorrow night: REM, Modest Mouse & the National
I'll have to miss Ladytron and the Breeders but REM is worth it.
Presets on Saturday.
The Cure next week.
yessss

Madonna sold out the lower bowl BC Place in less than a minute. Expect the upper bowl to be released soon...

I'd like to go to Beck, but $70 (after the various Ticketmaster charges that's about right) is pretty steep...

I too am torn. At least it's a great venue. I don't know many songs from Band of Horses but I've heard good things about them.
