Perth, Australia July 2018

Spent a week in Perth, the main purpose was to visit family there. Was a nice city, has the Mediterranean climate but in winter it rains a lot, but the weather changes every 5 minutes. It is a fast growing city and now has a population of 2.1 million, they are adding a new rail line to the airport and are going to get a new one to the northern suburbs at some point.

It's on the Indian Ocean and has beautiful beaches, fancy birds in the trees and lush gardens. Lemon and Orange trees in most everyone's yard, very nice. It is not as busy or bustling as Melbourne or Sydney and some say a little sleepy. It is similar to Vancouver in some ways more so than Melbourne but Vancouver has more bustle.

Wow, Perth looks beautiful. I love whatever architectural style this is, which Australian cities seem to have a lot of.

Very cool! Looks like a nice city and location. It seems like it would be an ideal place to retire.

Nice tour. The city looks so clean compared to most others. Love the night shots. Thanks.

Have a few more

This is Elizabeth Quay, it is apparently a newer developed area, and there are a number of highrise condos going up, they start at just under $500,000 and go up in price.

Looks like they still get a decent amount of blue sky even during the winter rainy season. Does it rain just intermittently over there?

Yes, the first few days it rained quite a few times, but there would be sunny breaks. Then one afternoon a big storm rolled in off the ocean and there were heavy rains and wind, some trees got knocked down i guess. But after that, it was sunny and might get a few minutes of a shower. But it was like heavy downpours when it did rain. Lots of puddles.

Freemantle, an older town that is now incorporated to Perth. They have pretty strict rules protecting the old buildings.

You know Austrailian beaches really beat the shit out of America's, and Canada doesn't even have one.
