Flooding in Vinings

The Chattahoochee river flooding at Paces Ferry bridge in Vinings. Photos taken around 6:00pm 9-21-09. The river is forecast to crest here tomorrow about 2' higher than in these shots.

Heh, that same low pressure system was swirling over Texas for about a week a week or so ago. We got 4 inches out of in Austin officially, but some places just north of Austin had radar indicated rainfall amounts of up to 13 inches.

It just seems like yesterday you guys were praying for rain. Now you've gone and had too much. Hopefully it will stop soon. Good luck.

You need to pray that the Corps of Engineers stops releasing water from Buford Dam for a few days.

Wow, we just had dinner at Canoe last Friday night. I evened joked with our waitress that I was "surprised they weren't underwater yet." Little did either of us know...

Channel 2 did a story on Lanier releases and said they are required by law to release the minimum amount every day and this will continue a few more days, before heavy releases resume. The lake is at 1067.92 feet.

Heavy rain is in the forecast again this weekend. I would like to visit the lake Saturday, if the weather isn't too bad.
