So is it just Toronto you've looked at for your "favorite Canadian" tower? cause that's all you've listed is Toronto towers... And Scotia Plaza is beyond ugly... I know most Toronto forumers are confused when they look at the word "Canada" all they can think of is "Toronto"...

Scotia's still #1 for me too, with the Bow, Absolute and RBP behind it. With Aura & L primed to join them.

As for Trump, I never had any of those kinds of expectations for it. Its turned out sightly worse than I thought it would, so far. Which actually isn't a disappointment because I never really had any great expectations for it to begin with. There are those who like it because its more 'interesting' than the usual skyscraper, thanks to its materials & massing. I won't argue against that, but its far too 'messy' to compete against a building like Scotia which is also very 'interesting' while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Scotiaplaza is nice, but the building plated in real gold might be better.

With gold trading at $2000 per ounce it is now probably worth a small fortune.

Let me get this straight, because none of the buildings he mentioned are from outside of Toronto, which was a grand total of 3 I might add, than according to you that means he's a just another self-centered, narcissistic and ignorant Toronotian.

Thanks for providing us with today's dose of anti-Toronto bigotry.

I'm sure he's well aware that Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal make a significant contribution to the roster of skyscrapers in this country, as am I. However, there just happens to be more 'skyscrapers'(which most people consider to be buildings above 150m/500ft if not higher) to chose from in Toronto vs the rest of the country.

Scotia Plaza's ugly? Hey, fair enough your entitled to a opinion. Obviously our tastes differ from yours, which quite frankly I'm not really interested in, not anymore.

When Manulife 2 gets going in Edmonton, you'll see the inner skyscraper fan inside freepa. Until then we will just have to deal with his bitterness.

I like the shape of the tower but the whole project lacks attention to detail. At night the entire 50th floor (which I assume is a maintenance corridor) is lit up with a strip of garish flourescent lights.

The cladding is a big disappointment for me, wish they had opted for the same glass material as Shangrila or Four Seasons.

I like big and tall, as for Canada Toronto is really the only one that delivers in that aspect.

^Err...The 1250 R-L is not 230m in height. Its 199m. I assume youre using its antena to determine its height. Using this calculation, the CIBC tower in Montreal is 250m, which would make it the 5th tallest in the country.

That's a structural element so i included it.

Antenna are not included in these heights, otherwise, First Canadian Place would be almost 1200 feet high, and Commerce Court close to 1000 feet.

Look, nobody considers 1250 to be 230m. Its our second tallest, not the first. Calculating the height of a skyscraper by including a spire is an outdated practice that never had any credence to begin with.

I don't consider 1250 to be 230m or Montreal's tallest either, but apparently the CTBUH does and they're a little bit more of an official source than me

Cal's just gong by the 'official' numbers. Meaning personal opinion(no matter how much more sense it makes) has nothing to do with this - end of argument.
