South Shore and the Valley

I see threads on here for Moncton, Riverview, Shediac, Northern NB, PEI, Sydney, Halifax, SJ and Freddy. Is there any threads on here or somewhere else to follow other areas of the Atlantic Provinces as they change with time?

There used to be a Northern NS thread, but this has long since been inactive. The Sydney thread is essentially moribund as well.

The NB and PEI threads are lively, but truth be told, virtually all NS forumers live in Halifax, and their interest doesn't extend beyond the Halifax subforum. They don't visit the general Atlantic Provinces section very often. Because of this, any attempts to have a non-Halfax based NS development thread has been doomed to failure. This, and the fact that Halifax sucks up about 95% of the development occurring in that province in any event. At least in NB, development is more distributed between different cities and regions.........

That's too bad. I travel around a lot and see new life coming into some spots and am always curious on what it is to be. Unfortunately the infrequency of a new business, industry or residential development in smaller centres wouldn't warrant enough input and followers.

I know the eastern end of the Valley from Windsor to Kentville seems to be constantly growing. New subdivisions, wineries, tourist traps, highway upgrades, retail improvements, microbreweries, eateries, and distilleries seem to be in full motion.

And the Truro area, as well as Antigonish and New Glasgow aren't doing too bad as well, but with the Halifax forumers having blinders on, and without a local champion to drive interest in a new development thread, not much interest will be generated.

Smevo used to be the champion for the Sydney thread, and David1Gray was the champion for northern NS. They no longer contribute, and the Halifax forumers don't care. It's too bad.
