I didn't play through the clips, but the images are impressive! Would love to see it in person. Anyone have a connection and want to organize an SSP walk through?

Does Calgary have a "doors open" day like Ottawa does. Looking at this building makes me realize there are a number of buildings I'd actually like to take a peak at!

The community that owns the mosque are very cooperative, and if you send them your name and info, I'm almost proof positive that they'll give you a date and a time, along with a tour. Infact they invite non Muslims to the weekly gatherings ALL the time (as seen in the videos above), try any of the links below for more contact information.

Calgary also just opened a Mormon Temple. In the video, there were palm trees around the temple. Cool, eh?

I don't know about palm trees, but if you didn't get to see it before they started using it, you never will. Anyway, we've discussed the Mormon Temple extensively on the main thread (I've posted several pictures during construction). Wrong thread here, though no biggie. Maybe the thread should be changed to notable religious buildings in Calgary? Might get over-run by churches, but limiting it to "notable" might work.

Sounds good. I didn't know there was already a thread on the Mormon Temple, considering how I'm new to Skyscraperpage.

Baitun Nur and the Mormon Temple will always be major religious landmarks in Calgary, contrary to an outsiders' point of view.
