Quote:
Police rescued then arrested a 25-year-old man after he was caught climbing a construction crane on the 71st-story of a building in Lower Manhattan last night.
Thrill-seeker Andrew Liu began his climb at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said. He was arrested two hours later—grinning as he was escorted out of the building, according to witnesses. Liu, who lives in Manhattan, was not suicidal, and carrying a portable camera to record his ascent, police said.
The stunt took place at 118 Fulton Street near Dutch Street, at the construction site of a mixed-use tower expected to be completed next year.
Liu was charged with burglary, criminal endangerment, criminal trespass, according to police.
