I know, that is such a sad reality, but it is still too much.

Have you been to South America? Haha. That would really make your head spin.

I would imagine it is especially noticeable coming back from Japan too, where I would expect that tagging is pretty light if not non-existent?

And we should be happy for that. If there is anything I don't miss in Berlin, it's all the vandalism.

it is really light.

It does happen, especially in Tokyo and Osaka, but after a tag is made it is usually cleaned up within days. (and considering the sizes of Tokyo and Osaka, it is a very small problem).

The vandalism in Vancouver hits you in the face after being in Japan for so long.

I will never understand how people can have so little respect for the communities and private property.

The nicest thing in Japan (in contrast to Europe) is how clean the rail ROW are. Very little garbage, very little tags. I was actually very dissapointed in Europe about this. After hearing how great their train system was for years on end, it felt like such a shame that all you see from the trains is vandlism (and inside the trains in areas as well).

Grafitti art can be great and add texture to a community, but tagging and grafitti vandalism is a serious blight on urban spaces.

Go outside of downtown or to the suburbs.

Thank you for bringing the conversation arc back to where it belongs !!
All things being equal, this is going to be a magnificent development, a crown jewel in Vancouver's skyline.

Those residents of Patina must be pissed! Lesson, views aren't guaranteed forever.

I guess it would be more of a problem if you had a mountain or ocean view, but if it's just blocking their view of the hotel next to St. Pauls then they might not care as much.

The one that looks like a better version of vancouver house. It's also the one that should have been 30 to 50 meters taller. In my opinion.
