The latter milestone is quite a ways away.

Source:

2022 + ln(12000000/31413)/ln(1.0136) = 2462

Quebec tries hard to stymie immigration, so that's a no. I'd place my bet on Ontario.

Quebec allows ~50k per year and was at 8.5 million last year IIRC, so no more than nine years to get to 9M at that pace. Some parties want to raise the threshold so it could be shorter than that.

Ontario is also likely to be easy to predict, but I haven’t calculated it.

What are the odds of the gravitational pull of Okotoks' Big Rock attracting the next fatal meteor before satellite deterrence systems like the one NASA just tested can be fully deployed?

Next up is the one in Australia! Okotoks' Big Rock might have a secret life and rivalries similar to Clockzilla's.

From that BC's only got ~160k or so to hit 5.5 million while Ontario still has to find ~850k to reach 16 million. I feel like BC will get there first, but the milestone numerically doesn't sound as significant.

BC will hit 5.5 before the others because it's almost already there.

Ontario’s population reached 15,007,816 on April 1, 2022, with a increase of 55,991 people during the first quarter of 2022. Ontario is already at 15,138,131 (estimated).

More than 200K per annum.

I can't find an exactly comparable figure for BC, but what I could find was that BC grew by 56, 000 from July 2020-July 2021. BC should get there first, if these trends hold.

In order, I’d bet BC, Quebec, Ontario.

BC obviously. Probably, closer a battle if we were to include everyone living in a province.

I picked Quebec, because even though I'm southern Ontario born/raised I root for La Belle Province

Okotoks's growth has slowed a lot. Airdrie deserves to be memed more than Okotoks nowadays. It's basically the Milton of Western Canada.

I don't think so. It doesn't look nearly as bad to me but perhaps that's just because of the varied terrain.

I got lost in Milton once. I think it was '95 or '98.
