After immigrating from Ukraine at age 5 I've lived in Vancouver all my life, aside from 2 years in Winnipeg for grad school.

I'm open-minded and try to be positive, so I enjoyed my time in Winnipeg. It was my first time leaving home, first time living in an urban neighbourhood, and first time experiencing real winter. Had a lot of fun there, but there's still a grain of truth to its negative reputation as drab. Ultimately it just made me appreciate Vancouver much much more. Never realized how good it is here until I experienced something else.

I've lived in several cities but leaving out some out some because they're small. The biggest Little Rock, Los Angeles and Houston. I liked my experience in Houston more.

Soooo many...

0-3 Panorama City (Los Angeles), CA
3-20 Simi Valley, CA (Ventura County suburban L.A.)
20-23 Manchester, NH
23-34 Colorado Front Range (Aurora, Lakewood, Greeley, Lakewood, Aurora in that order)
35 Bakersfield, CA
36 Houston, TX
37-39 Pittsburgh PA
40-43 Houston, TX
44 Chicago, IL (Lakeview), Portland OR
45 Portland OR, Chicago IL (Avondale/Belmont Gardens)

You could say I've moved a lot over the years. Sick and tired of it, want nothing more than to stay in Chicago for a very long time.

I was born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1963
Our family moved to Trumbull, CT when I was in 1st grade
Moved to Johnstown, NY in 5th grade
Moved to Atlanta, GA in 7th grade
Moved to Rochester, NY in 11th grade
Moved to Erie, PA in 12th grade
Moved back to Atlanta in 1980 to attend Ga Tech
Moved to Groton, CT after Ga Tech for my 1st post-college job, 1985
Moved back to Atlanta in 1986, and have been here since then

Over the years I've probably lived in about 10 different locations throughout the Atlanta metro

With my work I travel a lot, so I've been to 48 of the 50 states (only lacking N & S Dakota).

I've been to about 25 foreign countries.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the story behind the repeated back-and-forth between Houston specifically and the northeast (mostly upstate NY)? Usually it’s only a one or two-way street, so to speak.

I lived with my mom when we moved to Houston in the early 80's. My father was/is still in New York and went back to live with him in '89. I then moved back down here in '97 for college and stayed apart for a brief stint in NH.
