Woah. I'm all for tall buildings, but trees add quite a lot to the urban environment - cleaner air, reduction in urban heat island effect, benefits to birds and other wildlife, visual break from built environment, etc. I get what you're saying, but bad comparison.

I'm curious to see what those units will go for. There's no pricing on their website (yet).

Let's just say more expensive than the average mortgage for the current medium price in Portland

My old apartment in Brooklyn just went for about that much. Probably a bit more if we're only counting rentable sqft.

^Me too, it's been a long time since Portland's built anything even close to this tall and it's in a great location in the skyline.

With Park Avenue West's office space spoken for, Vanessa Sturgeon turns to new Lake Oswego project

Not too long ago, investment firm Morgan Stanley signed a lease for two full floors at Park Avenue West, the 30-story apartment and office tower that's nearing completion in downtown Portland.

The lease, according to Vanessa Sturgeon, president and CEO of TMT Development, tied up the last of the available office space save for the 21st floor, for which Stoel Rives LLC has an option.

Surprisingly, that leasing milestone passed without much fanfare.

"Nobody really asked," said Sturgeon, who also noted that TMT leased its first two apartments in the building in the past week.
...continues at the Portland Business Journal.

No zoom, that's just the camera in my phone. I'm on the hill above 405 and PSU.

I'm still under construction, so not prepared to have company yet. Still missing some minor things like stairs and guardrails.
