lmfao, whatever you say.

Is this forum so desperate for activity that you lament the banning of a troll?

How sad.

Who would have thought that 1,050' would barely make an impact on the Midtown skyline a couple of years back. Now with all those 1,400+ footers underway Verre will get kind of lost, especially since its top is very slender.

JR was a lot of fun. He was the straw that mixed the drink. But you're right, he has always been somewhat immature, and he has always been a Chicago troll, which is a big no-no around these parts. Whereas it's basically impossible to get banned as a New York troll.

Ahem.

.

Do you hang out with Gale Brewer because it certainly isn't the female in your avatar? Difference between many NYC contributors and you is that they contribute, instead of knocking developments and cities.

Almost make you wish this was where 50 West currently stands. Imagine this beauty complementing the WTC complex.

Even at the original height, eventually it would get lost. Just a matter of time before the remaining mid rises get redeveloped. Good location would be where "Lee's Art Shop" stands at 217 W 57th. There's a crappy GNC that needs to be redeveloped. 57th Street needs the full canyon pronto. 42nd Street is on its way to being a full one in time due when the remaining lots get redeveloped on the West Side, and I'm hoping this street beats it in the race. Its already one of the richest areas in the world.

The forum is meant for discussion and critique, that's why we're here, last time I checked I didn't see a "must live in a big city and constantly post construction updates" clause in the admission for membership.

But I guess I should turn on my google alerts for skyscraper articles and post them so I don't get accused of not pulling my own weight around here.

He was banned for legitimate reasons, but don't worry I'm sure he'll be back on a 2nd account soon enough.

It's an extraordinary design that will take many by surprise. The area where this will rise is littered with 50s/60/s/70s corporate structures - this tower will absolutely "pop".

The city that gave rise to the skyscraper skyline has never seen anything like this. That's how amazing it is.

Why do I find myself comparing this design to the Hearst by Lord Foster?

Does anyone else notice the symmetric references?

Yeah, the diagonal braces and the angles. Very different forms, yet of similar spirit.

And yes, it will be running 24/7 during this boom. I expect this to be played on the streets at 120db, at 3 am, in NIMBY neighborhoods. No time for sleep during la revolution! I want Gale Brewer to not sleep for the next 4 years.

Actually, a little crank, this song 24/7 , and I bet you'd see those workers build this in 19 days. Some Chinese style contruction speed.
