Manhattan Skyline?

Does anybody have a good black & white picture of the Manhattan skyline?

Preferably with the twins still there

I have saved hundreds of pics of NYC before 9/11, mainly showcaseing the WTC.

What kind of picture are you looking for?

Just a black and white shot, possibly just looking at lower manhattan.

You could take any shot and edit out the color so that it is black and white on photoshop.

Not really.

Most photographers who shoot in black and white rely on shapes and textures, while a colour shot of lower Manhattan is amazing on its own, know what I mean?

Ex:

Awesome in colour

Crummy and bland in black & white

Does anyone have a higher resolution version of this picture? I love this shot and been looking for it on the Internet.

They were the best and completed the skyline. Regardless of how great the new WTC will be, nothing will ever beat the classic shots of the real WTC from the Brooklyn Bridge, the Woolworth Bldg in the middle, and them behind the WFC.

Being someone who is constantly Downtown, I look at those above photos and think to myself how big the Twins were to not only the city, but Downtown in itself.

That remains to be seen, because not only do we have the multiple WTC towers, Downtown is building a lot of towers in other places as well, including Gehry's tower (which will be very prominent from the Brooklyn Bridge).

Nah, I don't care how great the new skyline will look, I'd take the old one back in a blink of an eye. What's important though is knowing that regardless, Lower Manhattan will come to once again have an amazing skyline.

my favorite angle is of downtown from the east, with those giant sixties boxes in front with the twins behind.

I completely agree. While I think that the new World Trade Center will be great, I also think that nothing will ever beat the Twins in Lower Manhattan. They may not have been the most beautifull buildings, but they completed the skyline. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Lower Manhattan + Twin Towers = Perfection in my opinion.

^^ That will be a classic/ iconic picture in decades to come. It represents the time in Manhattan post the original WTC and pre the new WTC.
